FOOTBALL fans are being encouraged to take advantage of Non-League Day tomorrow – with two local clubs offering discounts to some spectators.
Both Poole Town and Wimborne Town are keen to get supporters through their turnstiles for this weekend’s fixtures (both 3pm kick-off).
Reigning Wessex League champions Poole are offering £1 entry to their Premier Division clash against Alton to anyone producing either a season ticket or recent ticket stub from any professional football club.
The Dolphins are hoping this will help attract new people to Wessex League football.
Southern League newcomers Wimborne, meanwhile, are offering free entry to Cherries season-ticket holders when they host Cinderford Town at Cuthbury. Fans need to produce their Cherries season ticket at the turnstile.
The idea behind the day is to encourage football followers to support their local non-league side, in the absence of any Championship or Premier League fixtures over the weekend.
