HOT prospect Jayden Stockley admits Cherries’ trio of enforcers have prepared him for his first-team initiation.

The 16-year-old striker is one of a number of young players expected to be in contention for a start when Cherries host Torquay tonight.

Stockley made his debut as a substitute during Cherries’ JPT defeat at Northampton last season before becoming the second youngest player to represent the club in the league when he came off the bench against Chesterfield in October.

The Broadstone-based teenager, who recently took his GCSEs, has been fast-tracked into the first-team ranks and is apparently shown no mercy in training by Ryan Garry, Jason Pearce and Marvin Bartley.

Stockley joked: “I’m very lucky because I’ve got those three letting me know what to expect when I get on the pitch!

“You can’t hold back in training and I’m not going to come up against many bigger players than Ryan, Jason and Marv. They give me a test in training so I’m used to it in matches.

“I don’t really get nervous before a game. I’m just excited and champing at the bit to play.”

Stockley, who is contracted to Cherries until 2015, added: “I would love to be involved against Torquay. Sometimes, I wish I was older and in the first team every week. But I know I’ve got plenty of time to progress.”

Harry Arter, Tim Stephenson, Mitchell Nelson and Danny Ings could also be in line to feature against the Gulls.
