New Milton skipper Dave Wheeler claimed the Southern Premier League Division Two batting award as his men finished the season with a flourish.
He struck 121 not out to end the campaign with a huge tally of 789 runs and ensure New Milton finally regained the sort of form which had put them in the promotion picture earlier in the summer.
Their impressive final-day win came over champions Andover. The visitors received the championship trophy during the tea interval at Fernhill after Will Prozesky (58) had helped them reach 187 batting first.
In reply, New Milton lost both openers early on but Wheeler then took centre stage to help his side to a seven-wicket success.
He added 182 for the third wicket with Ben Neal (54) to seal the points and third spot in the table.
The club enjoyed a double individual success as bowler Eric Linge, who claimed four wickets on Saturday, topped the division’s bowling rankings.
Elsewhere, Bournemouth seconds finished the season in eighth after they were defeated by runners-up Hook and Newnham Basics.
• Bashley ended the season on a high and cemented fifth position in Division One with a 23-run victory over South Wilts.
