BRISTOL City are believed to be the mystery club in the race to sign Brett Pitman.
Cherries chairman Eddie Mitchell exclusively revealed to the Echo that a second interested party had yesterday entered negotiations for the 22-year-old, after his move to Blackpool broke down.
But while Mitchell refused to reveal the club involved in transfer talks, sources suggest the Robins have moved for the sought-after frontman.
The Ashton Gate club have today been linked with Cherries' prized asset and boss Keith Millen has previously made no secret of his desire to bolster his side's depleted attacking resources.
The Echo understands an end to the on-off Pitman transfer saga, which has also seen him linked with the likes of Ipswich Town, QPR and Swansea City, could now be imminent.
