STUDENTS Tom Wilkinson and Dan Creasey dished out a cricketing lesson as Bournemouth continued their march towards Division One glory.

The pair produced fine performances with bat and ball, respectively, as the title favourites put Ferndown Wayfarers in their place in the top-of-the-table clash.

Despite Wayfarers going into the match in second spot following a decent start to the campaign, Bournemouth’s young guns produced a dominant display to underline their championship credentials.

And Wilkinson and Creasey were at the heart of the 144-run victory.

Bath University’s Wilkinson fired an unbeaten 115 from 114 deliveries to help his side post an imposing 282 for four batting first.

He shared in a stand of 111 for the second wicket with 16-year-old opener Jake Hurley (61).

George Russell, 16, then joined Wilkinson and smashed 42 not out off 29 balls as the duo added a quickfire 83 in the final seven overs.

Then came Creasey’s turn to shine, with the Bournemouth University student claiming career-best figures of seven for 32 with his off-spin.

Only four Wayfarers batsmen got into double figures as Simon Ridley (1-17) and Greg Thew (1-24) also chipped in with wickets.

• Title hopefuls Parley fired a warning to their rivals with a crushing 146-run win over Cranborne.

Raj Naik was again a top performer with both bat and ball.

After opting to bat first, Ollie Green and Naik justified their captain’s decision with big scores.

Green hit 94 and, together with experienced Naik (80), shared a third-wicket partnership of 168 to take the game away from the hosts.

And following Salman Khattak’s early four-wicket blast – which came inside three overs, all clean bowled – the writing was on the wall.

Naik came on in the 14th over and started with four maidens before finishing with exceptional figures of two for three, while Khattak (5-28) went on to bag a five-wicket haul as Cranborne were skittled for 98.

• Ian Booth hit an unbeaten ton as Swanage recorded their first victory of the campaign – and compounded Blandford’s woes in the process.

Blandford saw their fellow strugglers pull away from the basement with a hard-fought win.

Booth and Mike Nash, who struck a half-century, helped Swanage reach 217 for five batting first.

And despite a stubborn last-wicket stand, Blandford came up short in reply, as seamer Ricky King claimed four wickets.
