DORSET & Wilts produced a stunning four-try second-half performance as they toppled Leicestershire 36-26 in the County Championship Shield final at Twickenham today.

The Bournemouth duo of Jo Burns and Michael Pope, Chinnor's Liam Gilbert and Salisbury's Sean Barwick dived over as Twin Counties spectacularly turned a 16-10 half-time deficit into a comfortable 10-point victory margin.

Lions scrum-half Scott Chislett had scored Dorset & Wilts' opening try in the first half.

Swindon’s Adam Westall notched four conversions and one penalty as Twin Counties lifted the first national trophy in their 61-year history.

Leicestershire, who fell 31-16 behind after 56 minutes, tried to force their way back into contention.

But, despite a superb display by their fly-half, South Leicester's Mark Lord, who scored their opening try and also landed four penalites and two conversions, they needed a 79th-minute penalty touchdown to make the final scoreline look more respectable.
