FERNSIDE Sports’ miserable run in Division Three of the Hayward Sunday League continued when they went down 3-0 in the basement battle with fellow strugglers JS Bournemouth Sports.

Tom Chadwick, Ben Cooper, and William Mills were the JS scorers and they are now seven points ahead of Fernside who have lost all 13 games played.

• Ben Messer put Channel Seaways in front, but Boscombe Celtic moved off the bottom of Division Four after equalising with a Richard King header.

Celtic went on to win 3-1 with two goals from Stuart McKillop, one of which was a penalty.

Tudor Rose led with a couple of goals from Jack Smith, but Rias came back to shade it 3-2 thanks to strikes from Paul Stanyard (2) and Keith Williams.

• AFC Stourvale kept their Division Five promotion hopes alive by subduing Vienna Windows Reserves 2-0 with goals from Nick Reynolds and Dean Feltham.

• Division Six promotion contenders Strouden Sports and Rounders shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw, with Michael Collins and Lee Phillips scoring for Strouden and Resh Mohangee and Tom Hill replying for the visitors.

John Smart (2), Jamie Wilson and Martin Forward netted for Talbot Pub, who matched JS Bournemouth Sports goal for goal until the closing stages.

They eventually went down 6-4, though, after goals from Gary Craig, Paul Lavin, Darren Bye, Mark Oliver, Adam Dorey and an own goal. Talbot goalkeeper Carl Dominey capped an excellent individual performance by saving a penalty just before the final whistle.

• A missed penalty cost James & James a couple of points when they drew 1-1 with Shoulder of Mutton Reserves in Division Eight. Neil Smith was the James & James scorer, with Stacy Wellington replying for the Shoulder.

Newtown Rovers were also left to rue a missed spot kick when they went down 4-3 to Fiveways United.

Adam Janes scored all three goals for Rovers, but United keeper Billy Herkes denied them with a superb penalty save and Paul Manning’s hat-trick and an own goal gave United the edge.

• Lloyd Wallen (2), Chris Watts (2) and Dave Burrells struck for JP Morgan in Division Nine but a last-gasp winner gave LV FC Reserves the verdict in a 6-5 thriller.
