VERWOOD Town boss Adie Arnold has urged his players to find some consistency – because that holds the key to unlocking the door into the Wessex Premier.

Division One hopefuls Verwood lie in seventh position, nine points adrift of leaders Whitchurch going into tomorrow’s trip to Hythe and Dibden (3pm).

Following a difficult campaign last time round, the Potterne Park outfit have again found their feet and look to be in with an outside chance of mounting a promotion push.

Arnold believes his players have the ability to make the club’s dreams a reality.

He told the Echo: “It’s been a reasonably good season so far, but what does my head in is the inconsistency.

“We’ve beaten the sides around us, but if you look at the points we’ve dropped it’s frustrating.

“We’ve got the ability to be in the top four but we have got to produce every week.

“If we can be tucked in the top six or seven, nobody takes any notice of us and it’s then whoever comes out of the pack to put a run together that can get promoted.

“We’re capable of that and the ball is in the players’ court.”

Striker Dan Baguley returns to the Verwood squad.

Ringwood Town face a daunting trip to second-placed Fawley.

But Wayne Lockey’s side are in decent form, having won 3-1 at Hythe and Dibden on Wednesday thanks to a Carl Fleet double and a 20-yard scorcher from Sam Yeats.

Gary Funnell, Dan Morrell and Clint Chappels all miss tomorrow’s clash.
