LUCKLESS Lee James is hoping a change of clubs will spark a return to form at this weekend’s Challenge Tour event in France.
The Broadstone player made the cut in the Allianz Golf Open Grand Toulouse today with two shots to spare after rounds of 70 and 68 for a six-under-par halfway total.
“I put new clubs in the bag and changed ball, just to try and change things,” explained James, who needs to climb five places on the order of merit over the next three weeks to win back his card on the main tour.
“I played well, apart from just two holes where I dropped a total of five shots. I’m still hitting the odd wide one, but there is little rough so you can get away with it.”
