PAUL Baker expects AFC Bournemouth’s drawn-out ownership saga to finally reach its conclusion today.

Baker, who has been trying to broker a deal for the club since February, is confident the |paperwork will be “signed, sealed and delivered” ahead of the weekend.

And once the formalities have been completed, a group headed by Dorset-based businessman Adam Murry is expected to be unveiled as the club’s new owner.

The Murry Group also includes former Cherries directors Jeff Mostyn and Steve Sly, together with property developer Eddie Mitchell and Mitchell’s son-in-law, Neill Blake. The quintet are likely to form a new board of directors, with Mitchell tipped to become chairman.

Baker, who is bound by a confidentially agreement which prevents him from revealing the identity of the purchaser, told the Daily Echo last night: “I expect the deal to be done and dusted tomorrow. Everything has been agreed and it’s just a case of the new party signing the documentation.”

Asked whether there was any reason for the delay, Baker replied: “I always thought it wouldn’t be done until the end of June so, for me, it’s been done quicker than I expected.”

Having initially agreed to sell to a mystery bidder, Baker last week made a dramatic U-turn after claiming the frontrunner had “changed the dynamics of their bid”.

And asked last night whether he felt the club was falling into the right hands, he said: “As far as I’m concerned, it was the only viable bid left on the table.
