ORGANISER Roger Woodall claims spectators will be “blown away” by the standard of rugby at this month’s Bournemouth Sevens festival.

Diamond Sport Events director Woodall has been busy lining up some of the world’s finest talents to play in the Daily Echo-backed tournament on Bank Holiday weekend.

And with a host of big names again set to grace the National Invitation Cup competition, Woodall is predicting a real feast of exciting rugby sevens at Chapel Gate.

He said: “We’ve got the World Cup winner Bobby Skinstad flying over from South Africa, as well as Robby Fleck.

“There are so many international players from around the world playing, it’s going to be the best spectacle of rugby anyone in the UK or Europe has seen.

“We had fantastic players last year but you won’t get a better standard anywhere in the world than we are going to have in Bournemouth this year.

“The main highlight is the National Invitation Cup and 20,000 people will watch that over the weekend.”

With such a large number of internationally renowned players set to feature, it is no surprise that tickets have almost sold out already.

“The ticket situation has gone through the roof,” said Woodall.

“The 1,000 VIP tickets have completely sold out, the V.VIP is sold out, camping is 85 per cent full and the whole festival is 80 per cent sold out.”
