BASHLEY boss Steve Riley has predicted striker Ryan Moss will help himself to a lot more goals after he grabbed a late equaliser on his Recreation Ground comeback for the club.

Moss was on hand to apply the finishing touch from close range after Bracknell goalkeeper Tom Willshere had spilled substitute Justin Keeler’s sizzling 75th-minute shot.

It was a fine way for the former Cherries trainee to mark his first home match for Bashley since returning to the Southern League Premier Division strugglers last month.Moss, who left the New Foresters for Dorchester Town last summer, had been sidelined by an ankle injury, but is now well and truly back in the Bashley fold following his first goal since his return.

Riley, whose side had fallen behind to a 51st-minute Tom Winters’ strike, said: “Ryan has been out with an ankle injury but we’ve nurtured him back and got him good treatment.

“It paid off because he scored a great opportunist goal after Justin Keeler had shown drive to get down the left hand side and fire in a good effort the keeper couldn’t hold.

“Mossy will score more goals between now and the end of the season, without a doubt.

“He just needs to get games under his belt and get match fit.”

Riley, whose side were aided by the dismissal of Brackley’s Dean Cracknell when the visitors were 1-0 in front, added: “I put Ryan up front with Richard Gillespie and it worked well.

“Dave Allen dropped back to midfield where he and Chris Knowles were both outstanding.

“I brought Justin on the left and he gave us a bit more attacking movement and drive.

“There were one or two naughty things going on, bits of retaliation the referee said he didn’t see, but their lad (Cracknell) lashed out at Dave Allen for no apparent reason and the ref had no option but to send him off.

“It can be quite difficult against 10 men if you don’t use your extra man so we went 3-4-3 with Pete Castle pushing up wide on the right. That created acres of space and chances but full credit to Brackley who defended well in the last 10 minutes to stop us winning.”
