CHRISTCHURCH and New Milton Seagulls’ Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 mini-polo teams both extended their season-long unbeaten runs in the latest round of Dorset League matches.

The KS2 team twice beat West Dorset at Dorchester, winning the first encounter 6-2 and coming from behind in the second to win 6-1. The KS3 team kept their first clean sheet of the season as they beat Weymouth 7-0 before a large crowd at Two Riversmeet.

The same crowd saw Seagulls’ junior water polo team locked in a titanic struggle with Weymouth juniors.

The visitors raced to a 3-0 lead in the first quarter but Seagulls fought back to 2-4 by the halfway point.

Both goalkeepers were kept busy in the final two quarters, taking turns to keep their teams in the match with excellent saves.

Despite having the greater number of shots on goal, Seagulls ended up on the wrong end of a 5-3 scoreline.

The ladies’ game saw the new Salisbury Seagulls go down 13-2 to a more experienced Weymouth team, who were 7-0 up after the first quarter before the hosts managed to stem the tide.
