SHROPSHIRE collapsed against Dorset at Wimborne in day one of their NCCA Cluberly Championship tie at Wimborne on Sunday.

Six wickets went down for 24 - and their last four for seven runs - after Shropshire had been put in to bat in the Western Division Two tie.

Dorset slow left-armers Mo Abbas – with a career-best four for 19 – and Connor Smith shared seven wickets and Shropshire, who where 106 for four at one stage, were dismissed for 130.

Captain Luke Webb made 42 in helping Dorset gain a first innings lead but they were only 20 ahead with five wickets down at the close of play, with Shropshire seamer Ben Roberts and off-spinner Charlie Home sharing four of the wickets.

Day two of the three day fixture in Western Division Two resumes today with Dorset 150-5
