CHERRIES midfielder Lewis Cook has been linked to a reunion with former boss Gary O’Neil at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

That is according to Football Insider, who claim the Midlands outfit are keen on the England international.

O’Neil worked with Cook at Vitality Stadium last season, with the midfielder featuring 26 times under the then-rookie coach.

Cook signed a new deal after Cherries’ return to the Premier League in 2022, signing three-year terms.

That contract expires at the end of the 2024/25 season, with Wolves credited with an interest on a potential cut-price deal.

The 27-year-old arrived at Cherries in July 2016 from Leeds United for an initial £6million.

Despite two ACL injuries, Cook has managed to make 215 appearances for Cherries across eight seasons.

This term Cook has played 30 times in the Premier League, providing three assists for his teammates after establishing himself as a key cog in Andoni Iraola’s team.

The 3-0 win over Brighton at the weekend marked Cook’s 300th senior game at club level, having played 85 times for boyhood club Leeds United as a teenager prior to joining Cherries.

Cook is a one-time international for England, having made his debut at Wembley in a friendly against Italy in March 2018.
