AFC BOURNEMOUTH boss Andoni Iraola compared Manchester United to Real Madrid ahead of the two teams meeting in the Premier League.

Cherries welcome Manchester United to Vitality Stadium tomorrow (5.30pm) hoping to complete a league double over the Red Devils for the first time.

In one of the most famous days in club history, Iraola led Cherries to a convincing 3-0 win away at Manchester United in December, silencing Old Trafford.

As expected with the history of the club, Manchester United are constantly held to a high standard, with discontent over their sixth-placed perch in the Premier League table.

Iraola compared the Red Devils to Spanish giants Real Madrid, pointing out that both sides could hurt teams despite looking like they were not in control of games.

Basque boss Iraola is certainly well acquainted with Los Blancos after playing and managing in La Liga for the best part of two decades.

Iraola explained: “I said this with also in Spain with Real Madrid. Sometimes these kind of teams make you think that you are doing well.

“You are passing the ball two or three passes, we are kind of comfortable.

“And then you make one mistake and three seconds, you are taking the ball from your net because they damage you and they have difference makers.

“So, I think we have to if we are under control, if we have the chances, we have to damage them. “We have to score.

“Because, the other game against Liverpool, where they looked like they were struggling in the first half.

“Then second half 20 minutes in, it’s 1-1 because they make the difference without probably the needs of other teams to be more in control, to be more pushing the opponent.

“No, they can make (the difference) in so many different ways.

“And this is why they are a big, big team.”
