REIGNING Spanish champions Barcelona are reportedly keeping tabs on the progress of Cherries boss Andoni Iraola.

Iraola joined Cherries last summer, signing a contract until the summer of 2025, having impressed in Spain with Mirandes and Rayo Vallecano.

After a slow start to the season, Cherries have made a spectacular recovery and now sit 11th in the standings, well clear of the relegation zone and chasing a best-ever Premier League points tally with eight games to play.

Now, on the back of a five-game unbeaten run, Spanish outlet Sport claim Barcelona are “attentive” to the work Iraola is doing in Dorset.

Current Barca boss Xavi Hernandez is expected to leave this summer.

Barcelona sporting director Deco last month named Iraola and Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta among a list of “many top managers”, before adding the club had not made a move for anybody yet.

Barcelona currently sit second in La Liga, behind Real Madrid, and have a Champions League quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain to come later this month.
