WIMBORNE Town’s trip to Tavistock AFC was called off at the last minute in the Southern League Division One South.

League leaders Magpies had hoped to continue their fine run of form in west Devon, Tim Sills’ charges having won their last five games.

Wimborne had travelled to Tavistock, only to find the pitch unplayable.

The game was called off at 2pm by the match official, with Wimborne’s travelling for naught.

A new date will be rearranged in due course.

Unbeaten in 11 league matches, Wimborne have six games remaining in the Southern League Division One South.

Their four-point lead over second-placed Frome Town was cut down to just one point as the Robins took advantage of their game in hand with a 4-0 win over Bideford.

They return to action next Saturday, when they host Paulton Rovers at New Cuthbury.
