CHERRIES boss Andoni Iraola is not anticipating any “problems” when it comes to players fasting for Ramadan.

Practicing Muslims in Cherries’ first team include Hamed Traore and Dango Ouattara, with the former out on loan at Serie A side Napoli for the rest of the season.

Muslims observing Ramadan are obligated to fast between dawn and sunset for a period of 29 to 30 days.

The fast is broken with a meal at sunset known as Iftar.

This year, Ramadan ends on Tuesday, April 9, with Cherries having a further three fixtures in that period.

Cherries are due to face Crystal Palace on Tuesday, April 2, in an evening kick-off at 7.45pm, with Iftar in Bournemouth on that date just before, at 7.44pm.

Asked if he had managed players fasting before, Iraola told the Daily Echo: “I've had these scenarios in other teams, especially in Rayo (Vallecano).

“I remember we had some all the seasons we were there.

“I think the players are already used to playing during this period, to perform well.

“And obviously Dango has also the experience from past season here.

“We talked about this and I don't think it will be any problem.”
