CHERRIES boss Andoni Iraola hopes that Antoine Semenyo returns from international duty with Ghana in the same rich form he is currently enjoying at Vitality Stadium.

Two goals from Semenyo rounded off Cherries’ remarkable comeback at home to Luton Town, the hosts trailing by three goals at the break after Tahith Chong, Chiedozie Ogbene, and Ross Barkley goals.

Dominic Solanke started the turnaround five minutes into the second period, Illia Zabarnyi adding further fuel before Semenyo’s double sealed the three points.

Since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, the striker now has four goals in eight Premier League games.

Asked about Semenyo’s performance, Iraola told the Daily Echo: “He has had more chances in the first half, second half.

“He hasn't finished them, but he has been a threat today.

“The other day, the last games I think he has been playing really well.

“Now he will go with the national team, but I hope we can keep him with this form and he can finish the season strong.”

Cherries now have a 17-day gap between games, with Iraola’s charges next in action after the international break at home to Everton on Saturday, March 30.
