LUIS Sinisterra hopes his impact off the bench can soon see him return to Cherries’ starting line-up.

The 24-year-old enjoyed more regular game-time when starting six out of seven fixtures between the end of December and mid-February.

But he has started just one of the past five fixtures since, the FA Cup loss to Leicester City, remaining an unused substitute on two occasions.

Sinisterra came off the bench to great effect on Saturday, replacing Marcus Tavernier on 62 minutes and looking dangerous as he helped Cherries rescue a point with a 2-2 draw against Sheffield United.

And he is eyeing Wednesday night’s showdown with Luton Town as an opportunity for another chance.

“I'm always ready to help the team, to bring some new energy into the game and I try to do this,” the 24-year-old told the Daily Echo.

“I hope to play more and help the team, that's the most important thing.

“Especially when you have a result like this, you have to push and bring the team new energy.

“I hope to play more and I’m looking forward to Wednesday.”

Reflecting on the draw against the Blades, Sinisterra said: “We leave with disappointment, because we wanted the three points.

“Of course it's also good to come back after a 2-0 score.

“After being 2-0 down, Sheffield were just dropping back and waiting for us. So to get back this draw is very good. We take the point, because it wasn’t easy.

“I think we were very unlucky also with the penalty (missed by Dominic Solanke). If, for example, we score that, the game would be different.

“They fight a lot for the second balls, especially with two big strikers, but in the second half I think the team showed a lot of energy to push forward and that's really good.

“Now, we are looking forward to Wednesday and that’s going to be an important game for us.”

Much of Cherries’ threat as they battled back against the Blades came down the left flank through Sinisterra and makeshift full-back Dango Ouattara.

“We connect very well on the left side,” said Sinisterra.

“We both have a lot of pace and good connections.

“Of course, it's good when you play direct and look for crosses to find the goal.

“I hope to keep playing and increase my performance.”

Asked if victory over Luton would represent a good return of seven points from three games heading into the international break, the Colombia international added: “We will try and prepare well for the game during this week and make sure we go for it.

“We have to be ready for everything. For sure they will analyse and prepare for this game. We will do the same and try to get the points.”
