CHRIS Wilder says Cherries will be “expecting a pretty straightforward, comfortable home win”, if they were watching his Sheffield United side on Monday night.

Rock-bottom Blades were thumped 6-0 at home by Arsenal earlier this week, conceding five in the first half.

The result leaves Wilder’s men 11 points from safety, with 11 games to play, starting against Cherries at Vitality Stadium tomorrow (3pm).

Looking ahead to the contest, Wilder said of Cherries: “They survived last year through a good finish.

“They’re a good, solid club. They’ve got a lot of talent in the team.

“A lot of talent from when Eddie (Howe) was there and what they did.

“They managed to keep a few and add a few.

“Obviously the game at Bramall Lane (a 3-1 win for Cherries in November) wasn’t a good one from our point of view.

“Their position is earned in the Premier League.

“As I should imagine, if they were watching on Monday night, they will be expecting a pretty straightforward, comfortable home win.

“That’s the things people will be saying and we have to accept that and do our best to make sure that isn’t the situation and the way it goes on Saturday afternoon.”

He added: “We’ve got games coming up where we feel we can change the mood and attitude of everybody. We only do that with the performance we put in.

“We have to pick a side I feel is right for the next game, from a tactical point of view and from an approach point of view.

“We can get it right. We did at Luton. We came close at Wolves. We did at Villa.

“We have done in my time here and we’ve done it in the previous period before me.

“We have to show that in our attitude and performance.”

Asked for a team news update, Wilder said: “Ben (Brereton Diaz) has been a big miss for us, but he’ll be back for the weekend.

“There was an opportunity I could’ve put him on the pitch on Monday night, but we felt three or four days training will make him in even better shape for the weekend, so he’s back involved.

“It’s a similar squad. We’ve got a couple that have come out of the Arsenal game in not great shape, so yet again we’re fighting that battle as well.”
