BOSS Andoni Iraola admits some extra help at right-back would be “very welcome”, but feels Adam Smith has been “performing really, really well” in recent games.

Only back from injury himself at the start of last month, 32-year-old Smith has missed just five minutes of action across the six games since.

That in part has been down to a lack of alternatives to share the load in that position with Max Aarons, James Hill and Ryan Fredericks all sidelined.

Fredericks has not trained with the squad all season due to ongoing calf issues.

Asked if Aarons or Hill could be back in action before this month’s international break, Iraola told the Daily Echo: “They are not going to be available for Sunday, definitely.

“We will see if we have a chance with either of them to be part of the squad before the break.

“Obviously it is not the ideal situation to be pushing Adam every time, but it is true that he is performing really, really well.

“I think he is doing very well. He is defending well, he is also helping us offensively.

“He is one of the best crossers we have, I think.

“I hope he continues, but it is true that if we had some help there, it would be very welcome.”

Cherries go to Burnley on Sunday, before home games against Sheffield United and Luton Town, prior to the break.
