CHERRIES forward Enes Unal said the atmosphere at Vitality Stadium for his home debut was exactly how he pictured it, saying he enjoyed the “lovely atmosphere” generated by supporters.

The Dean Court faithful got their first look at deadline day signing Unal when he came on for the final stages of Cherries’ 1-0 defeat to Manchester City.

Unal had made two cameo appearances off the bench in away matches at Fulham and Newcastle, but his substitute showing against his former club was his first at Vitality Stadium.

Asked what he made of playing in front of his new home fans for the first time, the Turkish international told the Daily Echo: “It was lovely.

“It was like how I imagined - a family atmosphere, like fairly small, and when we get the fans behind us, it was really great.

“And they were pushing us -it's really important.

“We will try to do the same and give them a lot of energy from the pitch.

“They respond great to that. It was a lovely atmosphere.”

Whilst Cherries are now winless in seven Premier League games, Unal believes he has joined a young side boasting plenty of quality.

Aside from going toe-to-toe with reigning champions Manchester City, Cherries were denied three points by a late equaliser away at Newcastle United the preceding weekend.

“I mean from the first day I arrived here I saw the quality,” Unal replied when asked if his side could take heart from recent performances.

“I think we have a great, great team, great quality, young (talent).

“And we need to keep on building and working on things, details and everything.

“But we have an amazing coach now, amazing gaffer.

“One of the reasons I am here is because of him.

“I've been just enjoying every teammate, so it's great.”

The 26-year-old could be in line for his first start when Cherries host Championship leaders Leicester City in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Tuesday evening (7.45pm).

Victory would place Cherries one further win away from Wembley, with a spot in the quarter finals on offer.

Unal continued: “Let's see what's going to happen now, what's the idea of the gaffer.

“I will just be ready. I would like to play.

“I'm looking forward to it and hopefully we win and maybe go on further.”
