MARCUS Tavernier believes Cherries “can move forward with a positive mindset” following their 2-2 draw away at Newcastle United.

Cherries had to settle for a point on Tyneside despite twice leading the Toon.

Speaking to BBC Radio Solent, Tavernier commented: “I think everyone's disappointed we didn't come away with three points.

“We feel hard done by at the end with the penalty decision.

“We're all a bit disappointed with it, but we have to take it as it's their decision, they get to make the final decision.

“But I think we can be positive that we took a point away from a top side, away from home, and we can move forward with a positive mindset from this game.

“We had chances in the game.

“I mean, not too many chances compared to them, but we had a lot of chances where we should have capitalised on, and put the game to bed earlier on and made it more difficult for them.

“But when a team is pressing you like that towards the end, they’re bound to create chances and Lloydy is unfortunate to slip for the goal and we're disappointed with that.

“But we have to move forward looking and taking away the positives.”
