ANDONI Iraola stated that Cherries must value their point from their 1-1 draw away at West Ham but shared his belief that his team had been the better of the two sides.

Dominic Solanke’s early opener proved not to be enough for Cherries as James Ward-Prowse equalised with a second-half penalty.

In the first half in particular Cherries had moments to double their lead, Antoine Semenyo’s one-on-one with Alphonse Areola arguably the most notable chance.

However, Cherries could only take a one-goal lead into the break, with West Ham eventually restoring parity on the hour mark.

Asked for his thoughts on the game, Iraola responded: “There's a part where you have to value the point because we know that it's not easy to come to this stadium and get a result.

“But it's true that I think if any of the teams deserved to win today it was Bournemouth.

“We had, especially with 1-0 up we had a couple of very, very clear chances – Alphonse Areola made very good saves.

“And when you don't punish the opposition when you have your momentum against these kind of teams, it can happen that they find their play and they score the equaliser.”
