ANDONI Iraola believes Cherries have “improved a lot” since their last meeting with West Ham United, but insisted: “The main idea hasn’t changed.”

West Ham were the opponents for Iraola’s first competitive match in England, on the opening day of the Premier League season back in August.

The match finished 1-1 at Vitality Stadium, Dominic Solanke cancelling out a Jarrod Bowen opener.

The two clubs go head-to-head again tonight at London Stadium (7.30pm).

Cherries will definitely have a different looking starting XI from that opening-day draw, with three players who started that contest no longer at the club in Jaidon Anthony, David Brooks and Joe Rothwell.

“Names wise, it has changed a little bit. I think the main idea hasn’t changed,” Iraola told the Daily Echo.

“We have obviously improved a lot of things from that day, but even then I think we were competitive.

“We played quite a good game, considering the opposition.

“But I hope we are better (today), because I think we will need to be better, because I think they are a better team also.

“They have improved, they will have the same issues with the market that we have, even for the preparation of the game, it is not the easiest thing.

“But we know our performance level has to be really high.”

Should Cherries avoid defeat, it would lift them back up to 12th in the Premier League table.
