ANDONI Iraola was not fussed by Dominic Solanke picking up a yellow card for taking his shirt off to reveal a message in support of Jaidon Anthony, stating that the most important thing was “to let Jaidon know that we are with him”.
Solanke rounded off the goalscoring action by grabbing Cherries’ fifth in a 5-0 win over Swansea City just before the break on Thursday night.
The striker subsequently removed his shirt to reveal a message that read 'R.I.P. Donna' in tribute to Anthony’s mother, Donna, who passed last week.
As per the laws of the game, Solanke was shown a yellow card, which Iraola had no qualms about.
Iraola explained: “It’s a difficult one, I think.
“It's difficult to put the limit and to draw the line. It's very difficult.
“I understand that for the ones put in the rules it is something really, really difficult.
“But at the end, I understand Dom.
“I think he wanted just to say to his friend, 'here we are, we support you.'
“Okay, we will take the yellow card, because in the end, the important thing is the message, to let Jaidon know that we are with him now.”
