DANGO Ouattara made his return from injury as Burkina Faso’s progression in the Africa Cup of Nations was confirmed, despite defeat to Angola.
Having played no part in the opening two group games following an ankle injury suffered whilst playing for Cherries at Tottenham Hotspur in December, Ouattara started on Tuesday night.
The 21-year-old, who has featured at left-back for Cherries recently, led the line for the Stallions and played the full 90 minutes of the 2-0 defeat in Ivory Coast.
Despite the loss, Burkina Faso finish second in Group D and progress into the knockout stages.
Ouattara’s Cherries teammate Antoine Semenyo is heading home early, after Ghana’s exit from the competition was confirmed.
Semenyo started all three games up front for the Black Stars, who picked up just two points from their three matches.
