ANDONI Iraola admits “it takes a lot” to win against a side as good as Liverpool, adding: “We have to do something really, really good.”

Cherries welcome Jurgen Klopp’s side to Vitality Stadium on Sunday (4.30pm), the table-toppers having lost just once in the Premier League all season.

Liverpool have already beaten Cherries twice this term, 3-1 at Anfield in the league in August, before a 2-1 triumph in Dorset in the Carabao Cup in November.

“I am quite happy with the two games we played against Liverpool, especially the second one, here at the Carabao Cup,” said Iraola.

“Even then we were not able to even tie the game. We have to be at our best, because they are top of the league, most in-form team in the Premier League.

“They have lost one game, and it was when they finished with nine players.

“So if we want to beat them, it is not just enough to be at our level.

“We have to do something really, really good. We have to be at our best.

“We have to be clinical up front, don’t make mistakes and it takes a lot to win against these kind of teams.

“We the experience of facing them twice this season.

“We have been quite good and even then we haven’t been able to take anything.

“We have to give ourselves chances to score, to try to limit them.

“It is not going to be easy, because they have elite-level players. But I think if we are playing like we did during November and December, we have a chance.”

He added: “Even in games where they are not at their best, these teams find a way.

“In the cup game, it was tied, the momentum was for us and then Darwin (Nunez) arrives, boom, in the top corner and they win the game.

“We have to be very good in the boxes. We have to make them pay for every mistake they make.”

Cherries beat Liverpool 1-0 at home in the Premier League last season.
