CHERRIES midfielder Philip Billing shared how his team are looking forward to their trip to Manchester United this weekend, with the Dane detailing how confidence is high.

A midweek 2-0 win away at Crystal Palace meant that Cherries have now picked up 13 points from the last 18 on offer, a surge in form that has lifted them away from the relegation zone.

On top of improved results, Cherries have started to impress with performances in recent weeks, giving the side confidence heading into a tricky test at Old Trafford on Saturday (3pm).

Despite constant negative reports in the press, the Red Devils are in decent form themselves at the moment, quietly rising up to sixth in the top-flight table after six wins in their last eight league fixtures.

Cherries have never tasted victory away at the Theatre of Dreams, their best result a 1-1 draw in March, 2017.

Speaking to the Daily Echo, Billing shared: “I think everybody's looking forward to Old Trafford away.

“Even though people are not in the best form at the minute and there's a lot of negativity around the club, but you can take away it's still Manchester United, it's still Old Trafford and it's still top players we come up against.

“So we're gonna have to be on our A-game again, and hopefully we can grind out the result because the confidence in the boys is high.”

Cherries’ strong form has coincided with Billing spending a spell outside of the team, first enforced by injury ahead of the 2-0 win against Newcastle United.

With the team clearly settled, the 27-year-old agreed with head coach Andoni Iraola’s decision to keep a winning side together.

In fact, rather than be disappointed at a lack of game time, the Danish international instead welcomed the rest – only if the side keeps winning.

“To be fair, not really! I see it as a little bit of a rest,” he replied when asked if he was frustrated being out the team.

“I've been playing a lot of games recently, well, the last couple of seasons.

“So for me, it's nice to see people do well.

“I just see it as a little break and I just kind of get my enjoyment back and everything.

“As long as the boys keep performing, you don't change a winning team.

“So, you know, I’ve got absolutely nothing to worry about.”
