CHERRIES development squad head coach Alan Connell has provided an update on Darren Randolph after the goalkeeper required medical attention prior to Tuesday night’s clash with Ipswich Town, stating that the Irishman is “doing well”.
Kick-off for Cherries’ development squad’s Professional Development League clash with Ipswich Town was delayed by 10 minutes after Randolph required medical attention.
The Irish international was stretched off after being treated on the pitch during the warm up, but subsequently passed all medical checks and was able to leave Vitality Stadium of his own accord.
Cameron Plain was drafted into the starting line-up in Randolph’s stead, with Mack Allan remaining on the bench.
Connell told the Daily Echo: “Darren felt unwell in the warm up, and received some excellent medical attention.
“Thankfully he is doing well, left the stadium of his own accord, and we are delighted to hear that.”
Cherries went on to lose 3-1 to the Tractor Boys, with substitute Kian Tydeman scoring a last consolation goal.
