OLYMPIC gold medallist Lauren Price is the latest name to be added to the card of next month’s night of boxing at the Bournemouth International Centre.

The BOXXER event will be headlined by hometown hero Chris Billam-Smith, who defends his WBO cruiserweight title against Pole Mateusz Masternak.

And it has now been revealed Welsh ace Price will also be in action at the BIC on December 10.

The 29-year-old, who won gold at the 2020 Tokyo Games, will take on Italian Silvia Bortot.

Price, who was awarded an MBE in 2022, has a professional record of 5-0, and won the British female welterweight title in May.

Experienced Bortot, 38, has a pro record of 11-3-1 and is a former European champion.

BOXXER founder and CEO Ben Shalom said: “Lauren is an exceptional talent and one of the future stars of this sport.

“She is already closing in on world titles and in just her sixth fight is taking another step up on December 10.”

Already confirmed on the card is Poole’s Lee Cutler, who fights Kingsley Egbunike for the vacant English super-welterweight title.

Exciting Ben Whittaker (4-0), who took silver at the Tokyo Games, will take to the ring at the BIC for the second time, while teenager Francesca Hennessy (1-0) is also in action.

There is no place on the card on this occasion for local super featherweight Mace Ruegg.
