RYAN Christie has penned a new contract with Cherries, which will run until the summer of 2027.

The Scotland international was heading into the final few months of his deal, having joined the club from Celtic in August 2021.

He has always expressed his desire to stay at the club, with boss Andoni Iraola also stating his wishes to keep Christie, having made him a key part of his plans this season.

And now an agreement has been reached for the 28-year-old.

Cherries chief executive Neill Blake said: "We’re delighted Ryan is extending his stay with the club.

“He has been an important part of our squad since he joined us and has unique attributes, none more so than his high level of tactical intelligence.

“Ryan is a model professional on and off the pitch and he’s an extremely popular member of the dressing room.

“We’re looking forward to seeing him continue to make an impact at Vitality Stadium for the next four years.”

Midfielder Christie has featured in every match for Cherries this season, taking his overall to tally to 89 appearances, in which he has scored six goals and provided 10 assists.
