DANIEL Adu-Adjei scored a hat-trick as Cherries beat Swansea City 4-3 in the Professional Development League.

Alan Connell’s side looked relatively comfortable at half-time, leading 3-1 with Michael Dacosta Gonzalez also on the scoresheet.

But within 10 minutes of the restart the game was level again, before Adu-Adjei earned his side all three points at New Cuthbury.

Cherries, seeking to extend to eight matches their unbeaten run, got off to the perfect start in their first ever competitive meeting with Swansea.

Adu-Adjei broke the deadlock on 11 minutes, heading in from a Ben Greenwood corner, only for Kyrell Wilson to quickly equalise.

Dacosta Gonzalez put the hosts back in front in Wimborne, before Adu-Adjei netted from the penalty spot, after a foul on Noa Boutin.

Kristian Fletcher pulled one back seconds into the second half, allowing Wilson to level the game.

However, just before the hour mark, Adu-Adjei headed in for his hat-trick, taking his season goals tally into double figures in the process.

Connell’s side stay second in the South division. They go to Norwich City in the Premier League Cup on Friday.
