POOLE Town returned to winning ways in comfortable style, dispatching Beaconsfield Town 3-1 away from home.

All the damage was done in the first half, Tony Lee, Toby Holmes, and Billy Lowes notching before the break.

Veteran Jefferson Louis pulled one back in the dying stages, a consolation goal with little impact on the final scoreline.

The fixture had originally been planned for Poole’s Tatnam Farm home, however, recent storms and torrential rain prompted the pre-emptive decision to reverse the game and have it staged at Beaconsfield’s Holloways Park.

Poole were much changed following transfer activity, with four loan signings included in the matchday squad.

Brendan Wilson, loaned from Havant & Waterloovile, started in defence, whilst Weymouth duo Frankie Monk and Harvey Slade were also included from the off following their temporary moves from the Bob Lucas Stadium.

Cherries youngster Archie Harris was included on the bench, and would be introduced in the second half to make his Dolphins debut.

Poole flew out the gates and caused early issues for their hosts. Lee’s powerful strike was denied by Matthew Rowley in the Beaconsfield goal, Harry Hutchinson also denied on the rebound.

But moments later, Dolphins would be ahead.

Lee’s hard work out wide allowed the striker to tee up partner Holmes, who finished from close range to open scores.

Two minutes later, Lee would be on the scoresheet.

Slade’s cross was headed home by Lee to double Poole’s lead just 10 minutes into the game.

The action then evened out, with both sides enjoying set-pieces that did not lead to any concrete chances.

Dolphins effectively sealed the game off shortly after the half-hour mark.

Harvey Wright squeezed the ball inside the box to Lowes, who drilled through a crowd of bodies to make it 3-0.

With the result all but secured, the second half was a relatively tame affair, with each team unable to take chances.

That was until the 89th minute, when 44-year-old Louis headed home to restore some pride for the hosts.

Dolphins: Evans, Nippard, Wright, Wilson, Hutchinson, Murray, Lowes, Slade, Monk (Harris, 61), Holmes (Samadi, 88), Lee (Fletcher, 75).

Unused subs: Ojo, Bertrand.
