CHERRIES maintained their unbeaten start in the Premier League Cup with a goalless stalemate at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Alan Connell’s development squad sit top of their group, with four points from two matches, although Norwich City and Charlton Athletic have a game in hand.

Michael Dacosta Gonzalez saw an early effort cleared off the line as Cherries made a good start at AFC Telford’s New Bucks Head.

Dominic Sadi then won the ball high, but the visitors could not convert the chance.

Nathan Moriah-Welsh went close for Cherries, while goalkeeper Cameron Plain was called into action at the other end to thwart Josh Esen and Owen Farmer.

Speaking after the team’s fourth successive clean sheet, captain Max Kinsey told afcbTV: “The first half I think we dominated.

“The second half got a bit scrappy but I think we did the tough side of the game, like defending and digging out crosses quite well.

“We saw out the game quite well, which I’m pleased about.

“Having the armband is a real honour, but it doesn’t change how I play or act.”
