CHERRIES boss Andoni Iraola shared that he is more concerned with rectifying his side’s defensive flaws rather than stressing on their goalscoring record.

The Spaniard’s side have conceded 15 times in their opening seven Premier League fixtures, their porous backline preventing them from taking any wins so far.

It is the third-worst record in the division, with Cherries shipping on average just over two goals a game.

At the other end they have scored five league goals, drawing blanks at home to Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, and Arsenal.

Asked about his side’s low-scoring form, Iraola replied: “I'm more concerned about the defensive side.

“I'm more concerned about the defensive side because I feel like we have enough volume and enough talent up front to score goals, but we cannot concede two penalties.

“You concede two penalties in one game, you are out of a game like we did the other day.

“These are things that we need to improve.”

Cherries will look for their first win of the Premier League season away at Goodison Park this afternoon.

Victory for Iraola’s charges would lift them above the Toffees, who currently sit on four points, one more than their guests.
