EVERTON could potentially call up the services of midfielder Andre Gomes for their clash with Cherries this weekend.

The Portuguese has not featured for the Toffees this term after picking up a calf injury during pre-season.

Club captain Seamus Coleman will definitely miss out, despite being well on the road to recovery from a knee issue sustained last season.

Midfielder Dele will also be sidelined with a groin issue, with no further injury issues for the hosts.

Dyche commented: "Seamus (Coleman) is still making progress, but a bit away yet.

“Andre (Gomes) has been in and out with niggly calf injuries, so he's touch and go whether he makes the squad.

“They're the main two. Hopefully, they will be back but not at the moment.

“Dele as well, but he’s a bit longer term.”

However, despite having limited absentees, Dyche complained that available players were not fully fit.

He continued: “That’s the truth of the story, we couldn't get deals done in the summer, quickly.

“So getting the team together late and then getting people fit late is not ideal.

“Winning games in the process of them getting truly fit makes it more challenging.

“You want a full-fit squad and as early as you can in pre-season, so they can mould and learn about each other quickly.

“Some of the players are literally coming back to fitness and just having to get out there and hit the ground running.”
