ANDONI Iraola says his side will give Liverpool a “tough match” after Cherries were drawn with Jurgen Klopp’s Reds in the fourth round of the EFL Cup.

Cherries booked their place in round four with a 2-0 win over Championship side Stoke City, Dominic Solanke and Joe Rothwell providing second-half goals to secure progression.

Liverpool comfortably dispatched Leicester City 3-1 at Anfield, the Reds entering the competition at the third round stage.

The Merseyside outfit represents Cherries’ third opponents in the competition this year, after having dispatched Swansea and Stoke.

Giving his live reaction to the draw to the Daily Echo, Iraola shared: “It’s a tough one. Liverpool at home.

“At least it is at home. We wouldn't have chosen Liverpool for sure, but I think we have to give our best.

“There are no weak teams in this moment of the competition, they are strong. But you prefer if you don't match against these top-level clubs.

“We've not been lucky, but we are going to try and we are going to give them a tough match for sure.”

Cherries will welcome Liverpool to Vitality Stadium the week commencing October 30, a midweek fixture sandwiched between a home match with Burnley and a trip to champions Manchester City.
