POOLE Town have been handed a home draw with divisional rivals Sholing to start their FA Trophy journey.
Dolphins will welcome their fellow Southern League Premier South outfit to the BlackGold Stadium on Saturday, October 7 in the third qualifying round.
Both teams enter the competition at this stage, with the winning side earning £2,450 sides whilst vanquished clubs will receive £625.
Dolphins have been knocked out in the third qualifying round in the last two seasons, falling at the first hurdle under previous boss Tom Killick.
However, Poole’s record run in the competition came three years ago, in the 2020-21 season, when they reached the second round.
In contrast, Sholing would match their own longest run in the competition with victory, having reached the first round on one previous occasion in the 2019-20 campaign.
Poole are next in action on Saturday, when they travel to Bracknell Town in the FA Cup.
