DOMINIC Solanke has labelled Brighton as one of “the best teams in the world on the ball” ahead of Cherries’ trip to West Sussex.

Brighton have earned plaudits from all corners of the footballing world for their possession-based success under Roberto De Zerbi, who recently celebrated a year anniversary in charge of the Seagulls.

Solanke is the latest to heap praise on Brighton, who made their continental debut with a defeat to AEK Athens in the Europa League on Thursday, highlighting their ability on the ball.

“We know it's going to be difficult,” Solanke shared.

“They're probably one of the best teams in the world on the ball.

“Especially when we played them last year we noticed how good they actually were on the ball.

“So we know it's going to be a difficult game, but we believe in ourselves.

“We believe if we do our jobs and play well on the day, we can get a result.”

Asked if he felt Cherries could emulate Brighton’s rise, Solanke told the Daily Echo: “Definitely. I think especially since the new owner’s (Bill Foley) come in, he's really put a lot into the club.

“The players that’ve come in as well, a lot of great signings, ambitious as well, and that just shows what we want to do really.

“Last season it was a bit more about staying in the Premier League.

“This season we're trying to kick on and especially over the next few years, become an established team in the Prem.”
