CHERRIES talisman Dominic Solanke believes he has “a lot more to give” after signing a new deal at the club.

Forward Solanke began the season with two goals and an assist in his first four Premier League appearances, being rewarded with a one-year contract extension following heavy interest from other Premier League sides.

The contract extension came in a week that saw the Solanke household welcome firstborn Amaya to the world, as well as a celebrate the Cherries striker’s 26th birthday.

“I think that week was probably the best week of my life,” Solanke shared.

“Honestly, becoming a dad, one of the greatest achievements and blessings I could ask for.

“Signing my contract was another big blessing as well, which was a proud moment for me and my family.

“And then obviously the birthday as well.”

Quizzed if he felt he was in the best form he had ever been in, Solanke replied: “I think definitely since I've (been) playing in the Premier League, I probably feel that I'm at the point where I feel a lot more confident.

“Especially from the first time around and I'm feel good in myself. I still think I've got a lot more to give.

“So I'm excited for the rest of the season.

“A decent start already, so hopefully I can stay fit and get a few more goals, especially (more) than last year.”

Asked about fatherhood, Solanke continued: “It's such a blessing.

“And you start to think, you’re living your life for her now.

“So, I think I've probably matured, I’m a lot more mature now. But yes, it's such a nice feeling.”
