DOMINIC Solanke stated his personal ambitions are more than matched by key figures at Cherries after signing a new deal at Vitality Stadium.

After interest from West Ham earlier this summer, Cherries have moved to secure one of their best players on improved terms.

The talismanic striker has extended his stay on the south coast by an extra year with his latest contract, tying him down until the end of the 2026/27 campaign.

Since Solanke signed his most recent deal last August, there has been much upheaval at Cherries, with new ownership and three different managers over the past 12 months.

Discussing his new deal, Solanke told afcbtv: “Since all the new people have come into the club, they've bought a great new ambition and that matches mine and all the players really.

“I think we're all quite gelled together. Obviously we've got a new group now.

“A lot of new players have come in and, they're going to bring great quality to the team as well.

“I think we're all very ambitious and I'm really excited to see what's going to happen in the next few seasons.”

Since joining in January 2019 from Liverpool, Solanke has played 179 times for Cherries, contributing 58 goals and a further 28 assists.

“I think since I came, it's been such a great time,” continued the one-time England international.

“I've really enjoyed it on and off the pitch.

“It's a great club and definitely in the last few years, I think we're going in a great direction, especially since the new owner’s come in, new coaching staff.

“I think especially this season, we've got a lot to show and especially over the next few years.”

It has been a week full of celebration in the Solanke household.

The announcement of his new deal coincided with his birthday, which in turn came just days after the arrival of his daughter, Solanke becoming a father for the first time.

Solanke restarted: “I’d probably say the best days of my life.

“Obviously bringing my daughter into the world, it's a dream really.

“Just can't really explain the feeling. I’m so happy that she's here and can’t wait to see her grow.”

Clearly settled in Dorset, the 26-year-old said he is looking forward to taking his new arrival down to the famed beaches in the future.

He continued: “I've been here quite a few years now and I love it on and off the pitch, especially when it's sunny, the beaches and stuff like that.

“I can't wait to walk her down there.

“I love living here and it's a great environment."
