CHERRIES talisman Dominic Solanke has extended his stay at Vitality Stadium, penning a new deal that will run until the summer of 2027.

The announcement of the deal coincides with the striker’s 26th birthday, just days after Solanke became a father for the first time.

Since joining from Liverpool in January 2019, Solanke has made 179 appearances for Cherries, scoring 58 goals and providing further 28 assists.

Solanke’s latest deal came last summer, the one-time England international rewarded for a fine season in the Championship that saw him score 29 times to help Cherries return to the Premier League.

Cherries have moved to tie down their star striker following heavy interest from West Ham in the last transfer window, adding another year to the new contract.

Cherries chief executive Neill Blake told the club’s website: “We’re thrilled to have someone with such calibre as Dom commit his future to the club having already enjoyed many successful moments together.

“He’s a player and a person that we value extremely highly both on and off the pitch and we’re excited to continue working with him.

“I’m thoroughly looking forward to seeing what the next few years have in store and I’m sure together we can continue our success at the highest level of football.”

Solanke will face one of his former sides, Chelsea, this weekend, when the Blues visit Vitality Stadium on Sunday (2pm) in the first game after the international break.
