THE Bournemouth Daily Echo has launched a new introductory digital subscription offer of £1 for one month, which gives you access to all our AFC Bournemouth content.

This latest deal gives readers a chance to trial a subscription and get full access to all our coverage, as well as the other perks that come with it.

I wrote an article previously explaining what we hope to provide for our subscribers, also fully acknowledging it won't be for everyone.

The concept of paying for a service which was previously free can be a tough one to come to terms with, something we fully appreciate.

We are really grateful to the fantastic response we have seen from Cherries fans in terms of numbers of people who have already subscribed in the past couple of months.

In that time we have provided an exclusive interview with the club's president of business Jim Frevola, detailed looks into the academy and transfer deadline day, explainers, opinion pieces and long reads.

We have plenty more planned in the coming weeks, making now a great time to take advantage of this latest offer, if you have not already signed up.

The majority of what we produce will remain available to read and comment on in the same way online as it has been in the past.

But some extra content we are looking to provide during the 2023-24 Premier League campaign will be behind a paywall.

For those who are yet to sign up or are still sceptical, this is why we are doing it.

There is no hiding the fact that local journalism is facing many challenges. While they still represent an important part of the lives of some, newspaper sales are naturally declining, owing to the culture shift across the increasingly digitally-focused world.

That includes for advertisers, who are moving away from putting their funds into print.

But the numbers of people now visiting our website is thriving. That, too, has to be supported by advertising. We have had plenty of feedback from those who are not signed up to the website suggesting the amount of ads they see make our stories difficult to read.

Should you choose to subscribe, the number of ads you will see on the website will decrease significantly and you will also have access to our ad-free app, which provides a much better reader experience for those on the go.

The app doesn't just provide you sport stories either. It includes the news section of the site, as well as puzzles that you can play online.

There is currently a £1 for one month deal available, or £44 for the year.

Should you sign up, when the deal expires the subscription would renew at £4.99 per month or £52 for the year.

As you are the ones paying for the subscriptions, we are happy to hear from you with the type of content you would like to see us to produce more of.

Please feel free to reach out to myself (tom.crocker@dailyecho.co.uk or on X (Twitter) @TomCrockerEcho), or fellow Cherries writer Jack (jack.tanner@newsquest.co.uk or @EchoSportJack).

We fully appreciate not everybody who reads our stories will be interested in this extra service and equally many of you will feel you are unable to afford an extra cost each month.

As now the only organisation dedicated to providing written coverage of Cherries each and every day, we hope we can help justify that extra spend for those of you who do choose to subscribe.
