JAIDON Anthony believes last season’s drubbing away at Anfield will have no bearing on this season’s trip to Liverpool – the winger stating that it was a “completely different manager, different team”.

Cherries were thrashed 9-0 by Jurgen Klopp’s Reds last August, the margin of defeat matching the Premier League record for a loss.

Anthony played the full 90 minutes of the encounter which proved to be Scott Parker’s final game as Cherries boss, with his successor, Gary O’Neil, also no longer at the club following the appointment of Andoni Iraola this summer.

Cherries managed to avenge the defeat with a 1-0 win under O’Neil in March at Vitality Stadium, with Anthony believing that there is “no thought” about last season’s nightmare at Anfield.

He told the Daily Echo: “There's no thought about what happened last year.

“It's a completely different manager, different team, different system.

“We have 100 per cent belief in ourselves that we can go and do a job.

“I think you have to in this league.

“We'll prepare, and go to Anfield ready and hopefully get a positive result.”

Cherries’ match on Merseyside with Liverpool kicks off tomorrow at 3pm.

Both teams started their campaigns with 1-1 draws, Cherries held at home by West Ham whilst Liverpool drew away at Chelsea by the same scoreline.
