WIMBORNE Town have unveiled their new shirt sponsors for the 2023-24 campaign – but MSP Capital will not be adorning the front of Magpies’ kit, instead gifting the space to charity MYTIME.

Property finance specialists MSP Capital has paid for the charity MYTIME Young Carers to become the front-of-shirt sponsor of Wimborne Town FC.

The move is part of the Poole-based lenders’ recently launched strategy – ‘Foundations for Better Futures’ - which focuses on helping local communities and charities.

Founded in 2013 and based at Avonbourne School in Bournemouth, MYTIME Young Carers provides safe spaces, respite breaks and other support for five-to-25-year-olds who juggle care responsibilities at home with school, college or work.

MSP Capital were front of shirt sponsors for Cherries’ promotion season from the Championship in 2020-21, before sponsoring their training kit last term.

In November 2021, Magpies were taken over by three MSP Capital employees, namely Lee Merrifield, Higgins and Adam Tovey, although the company has no direct involvement aside from the new sponsorship.

Paul Miracca, Joint Managing Director at MSP Capital said: “We have a long association with Wimborne Town Football Club and some of our colleagues have been fans for over 40 years.

“We are all impressed by their desire to help the local community with their development centre and work with local schools.

“This type of initiative is the type of good we want Foundations for Better Futures to achieve. Donating this sponsorship to a local charity will give MYTIME a unique opportunity to get in front of their target audience of young people and their families who need support.”

Krista Sharp, Chief Executive Officer at MYTIME Young Carers, said: “MYTIME is so grateful to MSP Capital for sponsoring the shirts at Wimborne this season.

“It’s going to be amazing to have our name emblazoned across the front of the shirts and know that 500 people come to watch this game every weekend.

“They’re going to get to see who the charity are and learn about what we do.

“I think for the young carers themselves, it’s going to be something they’re really proud of.”

Tony Grant, Chairman at Wimborne Town Football Club, said: “The community is hugely important to Wimborne Town FC. I think it’s a fantastic partnership with MYTIME and MSP Capital.

“I was involved with a young carer’s group a few years ago and I actually saw what was going on with the youngsters looking after their family.

“I think the publicity that MYTIME will get is a great opportunity.”
