NEW Cherries signing Alex Scott could miss the first months of the Premier League season, according to boss Andoni Iraola.
On Thursday evening, it was announced that Cherries had secured the signature of the England under-20 international from Bristol City, parting way with £20million, potentially rising to £25million.
When unveiled as a Cherries player, a club statement shared that the knee injury sustained by the 19-year-old is more serious than first feared.
The statement read: “During the medical, scans revealed the injury to be more significant than was initially reported.
“With the recovery process now outlined by our medical team, he will join up with the squad following a period of rehabilitation.”

When asked about Scott’s arrival, Iraola shared: “It’s a great signing for the club.
“I think he's a great kid.
“The first impression when we talked to him was really nice.
“Unfortunately, he will be out for the start of the season - probably first couple of months.
“He will have to take these weeks to settle in, to know more about the team, to know more the teammates and to prepare and help us further in the season.
“But I think it's a player with his age, with the season he had past season in the Championship, that he can help us a lot.”
