ALEX Scott is set to have a medical with Cherries after a fee has been agreed with Bristol City, the Daily Echo understands.

Cherries have long pursed the teenager who currently plies his trade for Bristol City in the second tier.

The Robins have long held out for a fee in the region of £25million, with Cherries’ bid believed to exceed the £20million mark.

Scott spent a year with Cherries’ youth academy on an informal basis following his release from Southampton as a youngster, the midfielder deciding to return to his home island of Guernsey.

After playing for the Channel island’s eponymous non-league side, Scott was signed by Bristol City, where he has gone on to make 91 senior appearances.

The 19-year-old missed Bristol City’s opening day draw with Preston North End due to a knee problem, and has again been omitted for the Robins’ EFL Cup fixture with Oxford United this evening.

Earlier this evening, the Daily Echo reported that Cherries have also had a bid accepted for Max Aarons, a right-back for Norwich City.
